Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has not only has it won the praise of several critics and game reviewers as the best MMO of 2008, it has also steadily increased its following of avid gamers, whether they are new to the online gaming world or not. Perhaps the secret of the success of this new online game lies in the available Warhammer online classes strategy & leveling guides. No matter how visually arresting and entertaining a game is, the bottom line is always if a gamer can relate to the characters, how interesting the characters are, and how easy they are to use. WAR Online does not scrimp in providing its users a lot of options when choosing the character class they can use.

At the same time, Warhammer online classes are not as strict or conforming to an archetype as other MMORPGs. Even so, it is very important to choose a character who belongs to a class that you are comfortable in doing or interested to pursue since this is the character that you will be building up and using for as long as you play the game. Warhammer Online Classes are divided into four different archetypes. These archetypes are based primarily on the role of the character during battles. The four are the following:

* Tank - these characters are heavily armored. Their purposes are to cause a lot of damage, protect their allies, and fight more than one opponent especially during mob wars. In the WAR Online world, examples of Tank classes are The Dwarf Race's Ironbreaker, The High Elves' Swordmaster, and the Greenskins' Black Orc.

* Melee DPS - these characters are less heavily armored compared to Tank characters. Their purpose is to cause a lot of damage in a short period of time. Most Melee DPS characters use powers that slow down or incapacitate their opponents. Examples are The Empire's Witch Hunter and Chaos' Marauder.

* Ranged DPS - Often the most popular character taught at the Warhammer online classes strategy & leveling guides, these characters inflict damage from a distance and often have powers or spells that can affect an area, causing harm to more than one opponent. Most of Ranged DPS characters are spell casters and gun and bow wielders such as The Dark Elves' Sorcerers or The Dwarf's Engineers.

* Healer - Healers are those characters who can buff or increase an ally's power or heal their injuries. Examples of healers are The Empire's Warrior Priest, Chaos' Zealot, and the Dark Elves' Disciple of Kaine.

As I previously mentioned, it is important to choose a character that best reflects your gaming style. If you are really into close combat fighting, choose a Tank class character. If you prefer to assist your allies, a Healer or Ranged DPS character would be great for you. Also, don't worry about getting bored with your character. The Warhammer online classes strategy & leveling guides have variety and are not simple caricatures of the usual fantasy classes. For example, The Empire's Warrior Priest is a Healer, but to be able to heal his allies, he has to be in combat, too, thus, making use of Melee DPS abilities.
